Memories of the National Day holiday in the year of Gui Mao (5) (Updating)

We finally fell asleep after a restless night. The next morning, around eight or nine o'clock, we woke up groggily. She reached for my phone and ordered breakfast delivery from a bakery called suuu bakery in Chongqing Guotai. She ordered a Roman matcha cream bun and a pistachio croissant. Then she got out of bed and started tidying up our mess from the night before. I was too tired to help, so I just looked at my phone boredly. Suddenly, I noticed that my Polaroid camera was lying on the bed. I had a mischievous thought and quietly leaned forward to pick up the camera. I turned it on and took a picture of her busy naked body without making a sound. As I pressed the shutter, I wondered what her reaction would be when she found out. Of course, I had only intended to tease her, and I planned to delete the photo immediately.

Unfortunately, after I pressed the shutter, I realized that the camera had a flash. A burst of white light flashed, and she, who had been leaning to the side, froze. After realizing what I had done, she quickly rushed towards me and snatched the camera from my hand. She then waited silently for the photo to develop and carefully examined it for a while. Then she pouted and said, "This picture actually turned out quite nice." "Let me see, let me see!" Her unexpected reaction surprised me, and I cautiously said, "I want to see it too."

But she gave me a disdainful look and said, "You're being too optimistic." Then she scolded me and even hit me a few times. Helpless, I knew I was in the wrong in this situation, so even if she didn't listen to my explanation or tried to argue, I had no way to defend myself.

In the end, the photo was cruelly destroyed before I had a chance to see it, and she bit me a few times.

Omakase Chef's Banquet!#

We continued to indulge in each other at the hotel for a while before heading out for lunch.

Although both of us had lived in coastal cities for a long time and seafood was not a rare dish for us, we still went to a Japanese restaurant in this southwestern mountain city far from the sea. It seemed that people in Chongqing were not very receptive to Japanese cuisine, and compared to the eastern region, there were only a few Omakase restaurants. The one we went to was Sushi Tamaki in Jiefangbei. The only reason we chose this place was because it was closer to the hotel.

Sushi Tamaki was located on the fourth floor of the Global Financial Center. The exterior of the shop was relatively low-key but gave off a sense of "high-end." At the entrance, there was a Japanese dry landscape garden. Inside, on the left, there was a sake cabinet displaying various types of sake, including my favorite Dassai. On the right, there was the sushi counter, with the name of the restaurant written in Japanese calligraphy on the wall. The shop was not big, with only ten seats at the sushi counter and a private room for four people. Since there were only two of us this time and we wanted to interact more with the chef, we chose seats at the sushi counter. Chef Xiao Jiang gave off a somewhat introverted vibe, but he was quite handsome, and you could tell that he took care of his appearance every day.

Lunch consisted of the usual eight-course meal plus eight pieces of sushi. Since it had been half a year since the day we dined there, I couldn't remember all the dish names and ingredients, so I only took photos of some of the dishes.

The meal was enjoyable, and there was another couple sitting next to us. To be honest, this was what I expected in a high-end restaurant like this. There would always be a couple who never stopped talking from the beginning to the end of the meal, discussing everything from Japanese cuisine to politician Fumio Kishida, and commenting on every dish, even though they couldn't even remember the order in which the dishes were served.

She ordered a cup of oolong tea, and I ordered a glass of sake. Although the portion of each dish was not large, the meal took a long time, and by the time we reached the sixth piece of sushi, we were already feeling full. She started to act spoiled again and asked me to finish the rest of the dishes for her (sigh). I reluctantly asked the chef to put less rice in the sushi to help her finish the rest. When it came to dessert, she suddenly perked up and started eating as if she hadn't said she couldn't eat anything earlier.

The Twenty Most Beautiful Summer Photos#

After lunch, we went back to the hotel to rest for a while and pack our things. In the afternoon, we went to Hongyadong to take some portrait photos. Although I knew that most of the photo studios in Hongyadong were just for tourists, I couldn't resist her desire to take photos. It was still raining in Chongqing that day, and the roads on the Yuzhong Peninsula were congested, but we finally made it to the photo studio. She went to change clothes and do her makeup, and I carried her bag and accompanied her, acting like an assistant. The makeup artist looked at me and said to her, "Your sister has a good temper. She's patiently accompanying you." She couldn't help but smile.

Finally, when she was ready, I carried her bag and the props and followed her and the photographer to the shooting location. Although I was annoyed by Hongyadong—crowded roads, numerous shops, and people everywhere—I had to admit that it was a picturesque place. With the guidance of the photographer, she posed and made expressions, and we took many beautiful photos. Because she wasn't very tall, she had to stand on a chair for one of the photos, and I teased her for being short.

After we finished taking the photos, she went back to the studio to change clothes, and I hugged her as we selected the photos. We had originally planned to choose nine photos for retouching, but after going back and forth, we couldn't bring ourselves to delete any more after selecting twenty photos. The staff started to persuade us to choose more photos for retouching outside of the original package. Seeing her hesitation, but also loving the remaining photos, I ended up paying the extra fee and keeping all the photos. She pulled me aside and said that the price seemed a bit expensive, but I waved my hand and told her, "We rarely come to Chongqing, and those photos turned out pretty good. It's worth paying a bit more." She pouted and nestled into my arms, looked up at me, closed her eyes, and asked for a kiss.

Although those photos were indeed nice, I thought the moment she asked for a kiss was even more touching.

Another Hot Pot Dinner#

Even though her stomach wasn't feeling well, and she had already experienced the "second torture" of hot pot last night (the first being the spiciness), she still chose to have hot pot for dinner. We had bought some milk to reduce the spiciness in advance and prepared some stomach medicine.

We went to another hot pot restaurant that evening. We initially sat face to face, but she complained that I was always staring at her, so we moved to sit side by side. But since we were so close, I naturally had to stick close to her, which earned me a half-joking comment from her, "I didn't expect you to take even more advantage of me." Having previously lived in Hunan, I had a higher tolerance for spicy food, but for her sake, we ordered a mildly spicy hot pot base and two bullfrogs. Although I knew that creatures like bullfrogs could still have muscle contractions even after they died, I was still startled when the frog in the plate started twitching. I quickly jumped into her arms, seeking comfort, and she gently hugged me, half-jokingly saying that I was like a scared little child.
